SLES is derived from coconut oil and is used as a foaming and cleansing agent in many personal care products. It can be incorporated in facial wash, toners, creams, lotions, soaps, and more, but should be used in lower concentrations in products that stay on the skin, such as lotions, as it can cause irritation in higher concentrations. It is effective in removing dirt and oil from the skin and can address problems such as acne and oily skin. However, some people with sensitive skin may experience irritation or dryness from SLES.
